The following terms and conditions represent the basis upon which driving lessons and courses are offered to you (‘you’) by your local Start N Drive driving instructor. Your driving instructor is a self employed franchisee of Start N Drive (SND, ‘we’ ‘us’ ‘our’). The contract for driving lessons and courses is solely between you and your instructor.
General Conduct
All SND instructors are bound by a professional code of conduct. Your SND instructor will be courteous, polite, tidy, punctual and will also behave in a professional and ethical manner at all times. They will not smoke in the vehicle before, after or during driving lessons. Your SND instructor will refrain from using a mobile telephone during a lesson and will not use your lesson time for any other form of business, personal or otherwise without your consent.
Qualifications
The Driving & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is the government body that examines, licences and controls the standards of all driving instructors in the UK. Your Start N Drive instructor is examined, licenced and regularly checked by the DVSA. At SND driving school our driving instructors strive to deliver the highest quality of service and training.
Tuition
Tuition is only available to persons who meet the following criteria:
1. Aged 17 or over
2. Holds a valid UK provisional driving licence or a full UK driving licence
3. Are legally entitled to drive in the UK.
4. Satisfies the minimum eyesight requirement.
Coronavirus Covid 19
These guidelines are intended to ensure our customers and driving instructors are protected as far as is reasonably practical from the risk of infection from Covid 19.
Before The Driving Lesson
Customers will be asked by there driving instructor whether they are well and do not have any COVID related symptoms nor have they been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms.
Customers will be reminded to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds, in line with government guidance immediately before leaving the house for their lesson.
If customers wish to wear disposable gloves or a face mask, they should be put them on just before getting into the car. Although these are not mandatory.
Customers should wear clothing that is suitable and covers as much of them as possible, including arms and legs.
During The Driving lesson
Customers will be assessed whether they are well enough to start the lesson. If we have any doubts about their condition, we are not obliged to start the lesson.
Both customers and driving instructors hands will need to be sanitised before the lesson starts.
Instructors are not able to shake hands or share visual aids, pens etc.
All touch points within the car will be cleaned.
Instructors will be open the windows sufficiently to aid ventilation during the lesson. Air conditioning will be avoided if possible, however if it is used, we will not set it to recirculate.
We are not able to allow customers parents, guardians or friends to sit in on the lesson.
If we need to check a driving licence this will be completed visually.
All customer’s are allowed to wear face masks and gloves if they wish.
After The Driving lesson
At the end of the lesson customers will be reminded by there driving instructor to wash their hands as soon as possible after leaving the car.
The instructors vehicle will be fully sanitised before the next lesson commences.

Payments
Start N Drive accept payments by bank transfer, cash, or vouchers. Payments are to be made before or at the start of every driving lesson.
Lessons
The student must produce a provisional or full UK driving licence on the first lesson. The student will also be required to read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres (67 feet) with prescription glasses or contact lenses, if normally worn.
Beginner Lessons
The beginner lessons are solely offered to a complete beginner. This is a student that has no previous driving experience, for example has never driven a car before on roads, private land or otherwise. We reserve the right to withdraw, change or cancel the offer at any time. Cancellation within 24 hours or failure to attend the first pre booked beginners offer lesson will result in the offer being revoked.
Block lessons
In the event that pre-payed offers are not completed before you pass your practical test with SND, any used training time will be re-calculated at the normal driving lesson rate and the remainder will be refunded accordingly.
Driving Courses
In the event that pre-payed offers are not completed before your course finishes with SND, any used training time will be re-calculated at the normal driving course rate and the remainder will be refunded accordingly.
Lesson Cancellations
If your Start N Drive driving instructor cancels a driving lesson, a minimum of 24 hours notice should be given from the start time of the arranged lesson. In the unlikely event that your SND instructor cancels a lesson without giving this minimum period of notice your instructor will reschedule the lesson at a mutually agreed time and will also offer an apology and explanation. Your instructor reserves the right to postpone lessons if the weather or road conditions are unsuitable or dangerous. Your SND instructor cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of them cancelling any lessons, for whatever reason.
You must give at least 24 hours notice to your SND instructor if you wish to cancel, change, or re-arrange a booked driving lesson. Failure to do so will result in your instructor charging you the full amount for the driving lesson(s) concerned.
Transfer Of Lessons
You cannot transfer or sell driving lessons which have been purchased in your name to any other person.
Gift Vouchers
Start N Drive gift vouchers have no cash value and can only be redeemed for driving lessons or courses.
The voucher is valid until the date shown and must be redeemed by that date
They are valid for six months.
May only be redeemed once and will be given to the driving instructor once presented.
Users must have a valid UK driving licence, please refer to our tuition section.
Punctuality
It is in the students best interest for you to be punctual for the driving lessons to maximise the full allocated time of the lesson. The student will receive an appointment card with a date, day and time of the next lesson. It is the students responsibility to check dates and times of lessons. The SND instructor will normally wait for 15 minutes and try to contact the student via text, phone call and if possible the at the front door.
Your Start N Drive driving instructor cannot be held responsible for delays due to traffic congestion. If the SND instructor is late, the time will be made up at the end of the current lesson if possible or added on to a future driving lesson. The student will contacted by the SND instructor in advance if the lesson is to elapse by more than 10 minutes.
Price Changes
Start N Drive prices are subject to change, SND reserves the right to change them at any given time. Click here to see our prices
Pre-paid driving lessons or courses will be honoured at the price in force at the time of purchase.
Our Driving School Cars
Our SND driving school cars are fully insured for driving lessons, are well maintained, clean and tidy. The vehicles are fitted with dual controls as standard. To see our cars click here
Driving Under The Influence
For your safety, your Start N Drive instructors safety and other road users your SND instructor reserves the right to cancel any lesson if you are or if they suspect you are under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. This will result in your instructor charging you the full amount for the driving lesson(s) concerned.
Practical Driving Test
A). Booking A Driving Test. Tests are booked by you, before booking a practical test arrange with your SND driving instructor their availability. You are responsible for notifying your SND driving instructor of any test bookings/changes that you have made and it is your responsibility to ensure that your instructor is able to provide his services and vehicle for that booking.
B). Use Of Vehicle. The hire of the Start N Drive vehicle for use during the practical test will be charged at the standard lesson rate. The SND instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of vehicle for the practical test if in their opinion your driving is actually or potentially dangerous or the chances of passing the test are unrealistic.
C). Test Cancellation. The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) require at least 3 working days to change or cancel a test, failure to do so will result in loss of your test fee.
If your SND instructor is unavailable on the day of the test due to illness or there is a mechanical failure to the vehicle a refund of the test fee will be given in full. In the event of the test being cancelled by DVSA it is the test fee will be refunded by them in full. However the SND driving lesson will be subject to 24 hours notice cancellation and will require payment in full.
Your SND instructor cannot be held responsible to changes or cancellations of practical tests made by you or the DVSA.
Short Notice Tests
A short notice test is when there are four weeks or less from the date of the first planned driving lesson to the date of your booked test. The follow terms and conditions will apply
A). A short notice test package consists of a minimum of 6 hours tuition time
B). During the first two hours you will be assessed by your SND driving instructor. If after the initial two hour assessment the instructor assesses that you are not ready to take your driving test, the SND driving school car will not be available for use and/or the instructor will not take you to that test. However your instructor will advise you of the next steps needed to be test ready.
C). If you change your mind after you have made a short notice test booking and wish to cancel your booking prior to the first lesson, a minimum of 24 hours notice required prior to the first driving lesson otherwise payment will be required in full. Student Comfort And Safety
For comfort and safety students are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing which does not restrict their movement. Students must make their SND driving instructor of any medication that they are taking that may affect their ability to drive safely before the start of a driving lesson.
Complaints Procedure
If you have any concerns or complaints all efforts must be made to resolve the problem directly with your SND driving instructor. However please do not let a problem linger, if the instructor is unable to resolve any dispute or matter of dissatisfaction please escalate your complaint by e-mailing to Startndrive@outlook.com
Changes To Terms And Conditions
